- What is a sex coach?
Like any other coach, a business coach, a life coach, even an athletic coach, a sex coach helps you figure out how to get from where you are, to where you want to be.
Many people find something is lacking in the bedroom. Because our society doesn’t encourage open conversation about sex, they stay stuck and unhappy, too embarrassed to ask or look for help. As a sex coach, I am trained to listen openly, without judgment, and guide you in a comfortable way while maintaining complete confidentiality.
- Will there be hands-on instruction?
No. While some coaches do employ somatic therapy, and others work with sexual surrogates; I am a talk only coach.
- So, is it like therapy?
Sort of, but not really. Most psychotherapy is aimed at finding the original traumas to air them out and heal them. Coaching begins with recognizing a concern and working together to find a solution.
While we may touch on some emotional issues as they arise, we won’t linger. If we determine that therapy may also be useful, we can work in conjunction with the psychologist/psychiatrist.
- What about my partner, or lack of partners?
We can work with or without your partners. If you aren’t having regular sex with others, that’s okay too. If the concerns are related to your honey, it may be more efficient to meet together, but it is okay if they can’t/won’t.
- What does the process look like?
It begins when you reach out and make contact. Then we schedule a 15-minute phone conversation (There is a way to do this all via email if you REALLY hate the idea of phone and video or in person coaching). During the conversation we discuss your concerns, and if it seems like we will be a good fit for working together.
Then we schedule the first meeting, online or in person. I will send you a basic medical and sexual history questionnaire, so we can jump in, and not waste your time and money. Sessions are about 50 minutes long, plan on an hour, just in case.
You will leave with some suggested activities or resources to work on before we meet again. In the next few days, you will receive a brief email overview of the session and a reminder of the homework, and takeaways.
The process works best when you can fully commit to it! However, that does not mean it has to be intense and/or overwhelming with time or homework.
As an alternative, if the idea of TALKING to someone is too much (which I completely understand), you can join Juicebox, a sex coaching text-based app. AND…. if you use the code GWYN when joining you get a 60% discount on your first week!
- What issues do you cover?
A better question may be what don’t I help people with? I am very open to almost every person’s concerns. From mild to wild, as long as everyone is a consenting adult, I can handle it. The only issue that I have no experience in is male erectile concerns. Other than that, bring it! If we determine that I’m not your coach, I will happily refer you to others who can help you.
- What does it cost?
Sessions cost $99.
You can save a bit by paying in advance for three sessions, for $237.
If you would like to have more access, I offer a monthly package which includes two sessions and unlimited texting questions, for 399. (I guarantee a response within 24 hours.)
